I want to quit my job, and I've worked as a server before, but it was just at a small mom and pop resturant, and I didn't make a lot. I just want to know if I would make enough to survive if I quit and worked at a place like Friday's or Applebees or something like that.

  1. i used to work at apple bee's and i made on average in a eight hour day about 100-120 per night  and more on Friday and Saturday's but you have to be really nice and thorough! Good Luck!

  2. You would probably get a tip just like you would anywhere else, just do a good job!

  3. My uncles is the mananger at Chilles in Dearborn and Detroit!! He has met a lot of famous people!!! The girls there are pretty stupid, but if you do a good job you'll get a good tip.

  4. Depends on how short your skirt is

  5. Depends on the night! On a slow Tuesday night you might make less than $50 in tips. On a busy weekend night you could make up to $200. (This is in the midwest.)

  6. It depends.  Some places make you split your tips with bus staff and hostesses, others let you keep it.  Try P.F. Chang's, the food costs more and people spend more there.  You can make at least $25k a year if you are full time and good at your job, but try a fancy place if you are already a good server.

  7. You'll make more money at an Applebees or Fridays. Especially on Friday and Saturday nights.

But keep in mind, the better the level of service you provide, the better tip you will get.

  8. I was a bartender for years and had many friends in the service industry.  Tips will vary depending on how busy the restaurant is, but I would say you could average $75-100 a night, assuming you are half decent at your job at the place isn't dead.

  9. Work as a research assistant, you'll get more money for sure without having to deal with potential jerks and also you are more likely to get job benefits.

TGI Fridays and Chilis means that you're settling for less both socially and intellectually. Challenge yourself in life or you'll be stuck in a rut with the guy at the bar instead.
