How much would you pay a sitter for morning work?

I currently watch three children in the morning from 5:30 to 8:00. I wake them up, get them dressed, do their hair, make sure they brush their teeth, pack up bookbags, and snacks...you know- the morning routine until the bus comes.

How much would you pay a college aged sitter to come to your home 5 days a week for this?

Thanks!

  1. 100 or so.

as long as you are providing QUALITY care.

  2. $75 a week is reasonable

  3. I would say 80-100 a week is more than fair.  Where I live, babysitting three kids is a 10 dollar per hour deal, and so that would be 25 dollars a day for you, not even thinking about the time!  That's a lot of work, and personally, to think that you're being payed 30 dollars is pretty sad.  I think you deserve more than that, as long as you are doing a good job.

  4. $100 a week

  5. Those are the hardest hours for a mother with school aged children. I would say about $100.00 is more than fair to pay. I would pay that much for sure.

  6. As a mother of 3 kids (one not in school yet), I'd pay $100 a week for that easy.  But I would already have their backpacks ready to go the night before.  That is alot of work to do and on a time schedule that needs to be adhered to.  Her being a single mom, whatever she is paying you may be all she can afford.  If you don't feel you are getting paid enough, you may want to talk with her, just let her know your thoughts on the worth of what you do but be understanding of her budget.  If you are getting 50 a week and all she can do for you is 75 when you ask for 100, rememeber she is a single mom and see that she is willing to meet your needs the best she can.

  7. What is the going rate for that in your area?

  8. Probably about $75 a week

  9. I am a single mom and would LOVE to have someone like you come to my house that early so I could leave for work and let my son sleep a little longer.  I currently am paying $51.50/week for the before care only option at his school but would pay $75 for a situation like yours.  Sounds like it could be even higher since you're doing it for 3 kids.
