How much would you be willing to pay (in £) for pet sitting, given that -

I volunteer on a city farm

I raise chickens

I have previously owned gerbils & hamsters

I do a lot of feeding & walks for my grandparents dogs

I live in the village where the service will be offered

I always do a consultation before the service starts, so that I know exactly what to do, and both the pets & owners have met me.

I grow a lot of my own vegetables, fruit & herbs so I won't kill plants.

Two visits daily, including feeding, watering, oral medication, litter tray cleaning, cuddles etc. (dog walking extra) as well as moving post, and switching lights on and off to deter burglars, and watering a few house plants (lots of house plants costing a little more)

I offered £1.50 a visit to a lady with four cats on my road, which would have amounted to £9 (fri evening, all sat, all sun, mon morn) but she said that seemed very low and gave me £20.

How much would you be willing to pay?

  1. Our friends just begged us to take their dog for a week whilst they were away.  I can't cause... well it's a boy dog and I don't want it cocking it's leg around my furniture and carpets.

The woman who usually does the minding is away..... and I think she charges £40 per week... although I live in a rich area of the UK.  She takes the dogs walks and looks after them really well.  I don't think that includes food either... client supplies food before going.  Anyway... your service is not really pet sitting... it's pet visiting by the sounds of it.  GL.
