There is a new 2009 corolla in one of the Toyota stores which is used as a demo. It has more than 1,000 miles on it and it's selling price is about $18,200 but they are willing to cut the price. It has fabric seats, abs, and an mp3 player jack. How much do you think it should be worth?

  1. If $18,200 is the sticker price, I wouldn't bet on more than a 1000-1500 dollar price reduction, maybe less.  Corollas sell well because they are good on gas and they are reliable.  I wouldn't nickel and dime for a car like that.  They will sell it to someone willing to pay the price.

People will probably tell you that the only way to get a good deal is to hold out and beat the delers to death for the dirt cheap price.  These people are idiots.  It becomes a miserable experience to you and the dealer which will ultimately end badly for both parties.  The car is worth the money, you wouldn't consider it if it wasn't.  Let the dealer make a little coin, and they will appreciate you for it.  The people who pay a profit will get better treatment down the road.  You'll be remembered as pleasant and an asset to that company, rather than the person people avoid when you go in for service.
