How much would you sell a Cadillac Eldorado Britz with 5,000 miles on it?

About 8 years ago, my fiance's grandfather passed away and his aunt bought-out the grandfather's 1977...(maybe 1978?) Cadillac Eldorado Britz for him from his Estate. His aunt later passed away.

The car has a lot of meaning to him because it was owned and gifted to him by people he held close to his heart. We're getting married soon and will have to sell it, (FYI it was his idea!) because we'd like to use it as a down-payment on our first home, (but not before we use it in our wedding!)

The car is all white, with white leather interior and is in mint condition. The original tires are on it. It has 5,000 miles or less on it. It was rarely driven and has never seen rain. The original title work and other paperwork is still in the glove-compartment!

With all this said, we have to sell it...there's just no way around it, especially because he is renting a garage from a friend and is paying too much to store it there. How much should we sell it for? Lastly, where is the best venue to list the sale?

  1. Even with the super low miles, I don't see you getting much more then

8 - 10k for it, I could be wrong.... That seems to be the going price. It's just not very collectible.

  2. http://www.driverside.com/value-your-car...

I would post it on ebay with a clause that local offers can void the listing, or something.

DriverSide is giving a $16,675 value estimate without any knowledge of the car.  I would say it's safe to list for at least that.  Since cars like that are a rarity, auction is probably the only way you'll find the true value, since it's only worth what someone is willing to pay. You just need to get the exposure out there.

Also check caddy forums to see if there's a buying/selling section you can list it.

    Good luck!
