How much would you tip on a dinner to impress your date?

First off check to see if the tip is included, in most European countries, it is.  If it isn't, you should base it off of good service.  If the service is good, give 20% before taxes.  It is often more impressive to pay the tip in cash and round (mostly) up to an even dollar.  Truthfully, you probably should concentrate on entertaining her instead of impressing her.  you may very well run out of money before she is impressed.

I don't tip to impress a date, I tip to reward for good service. But as a rule 20% is a decent tip, you don't want to come across as a braggart brandishing money about. But more important in the eyes of a date is how you treat the server, bus boy etc., treat them with respect and in a friendly manner.

I always tip 20% regaurdless, if you want to impress ur date then go 25 or 30%. But how would your date know how much you are tipping anyway? Your not going to make them take the check up for you or sign credit card slip in front of them are you?
