serious talk:-(YOU ARE NOT SAFE IN YOUR OWN HOME IN TRINIDAD)

Swaran Siegoolam Maharaj, 52, a tax officer with the Board of Inland Revenue, his wife Rampiari and daughter Indu, of Palmyra Village, San Fernando, pushed with all their might to keep the door closed. They prayed and screamed to attract neighbours as the bandits tried to force their way into the bedroom.operator with the 999 emergency service allegedly abused Indu as she desperately pleaded for help.Indus explained while talking to the woman, her mother was heard screaming for help in the background. Indu said the operator chided her about her mother’s behaviour and said, “If it was my house they were breaking into, I would not be behaving like that, screaming.” Indu ignored the comments and pleaded with the operator to send help. However, the family had to telephone a relative in Tunapuna who contacted the CID before help arrived.Even though the bandits were still pounding the door in the house, the bandits were still able to elude the police and escaped. wow Maharaj wept as he recalled the ordeal which began at about 3 am. He said it was divine intervention that his daughter, a UWI student, got up from the room she was in at about 9.30 pm on Saturday and decided to sleep in her parents room. Maharaj said the bandits forced open two padlocks on two iron gates to gain entry. They ransacked two bedrooms before breaking the lock on the gate leading to the master bedroom. He said before the bandits broke the second lock, they apparently ate, used the toilet and put on the lights.Maharaj said as the intruders tried to force their bedroom door open, he and his family pushed against it, and pleaded that they were poor people and did not have many items of value. The bandits already had most of Maharaj’s possession which included a laptop computer, his brief case with his passport, driver’s permit and ID card, and several tax files from work and about $25,000 in cash which represented his salary and backpay.Crime is high you even cant relex/sleep in your own home........little crime, comfortable,Be honest.

  2. I love Trinidad with everything I've got, a little crime problem is not going to stop me from bringing a foreign guest home.

I am actually planning a Cooking Tour from the USA to Trinidad, later in the year.

I will be bringing at least 40 foreign nationals, so they can see first hand what a beautiful place Trinidad is, they will also enjoy our delicious Cuisine.

And yes Trinisoccer, our country is lovely and beautiful.

    Don't worry about the haters.

    UPDATE:

To ROGER, that stuff can happen anywhere, not just Trinidad, I  come from generations of Born Trinidadians,  tons of brothers and sisters, cousins, you name it I have it in Trinidad, and none of us have never had to endure any type of heinous crime, but some of us immigrated to the USA, and we have been robbed, home vandalized and even murdered while being robbed,  a country do not commit crimes, but some of the losers citizens that commit those crimes.. should we do everything possible to put those type of people behind bars.. h**l Yeah!.. SO ROGER DO NOT GO AROUND BLAMING THE COUNTRY, WE HAVE MORE POSITIVE THINGS GOING ON  IN TRINIDAD THAT OUTWEIGHS THE NEGATIVE.SO Roger why don't you get up and help solve the crime problem that you talk so much about.

  3. I love Trinidad with my heart and soul. I would not hesitate to bring a foreign guest home, I would do it in a minute. We have a beautiful country with plenty to offer.

  4. This guy Roger, does he hear the news here in the US? Or is he on an island somewhere? Can someone share this week DC Metro news with him?

Does a few crimes change how sweet Trinidad is? Where can you actually stand around and lime in Town before going home? Where in the world can you go to work and leave after a while and still get pay for the day?

And yes; apart from the crime, Trinidad is still a beautiful place. I have family who took foreigners from the US home for carnival and they had themselves a ball. They cyar wait to go back.

  5. 100% proud.

I never shame to tell ppl where I am from.

  6. Absolutely!! Not just comfortable but d**n PROUD!!

  7. I LOVE MY COUNTRY THIS SEEMS TO BE THE ONLY PLACE WHERE YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE. THIS IS MY HEART MY HOUSE MY HOME. THE ONLY PEOPLE WHO ARE REALLY BRINGING DOWN SWEET TNT ARE PEOPLE WHO HAVE CAUGHT THE FORIEGN BUG.
