  2. why does she wanna get paid for bein a mom? helping their children is what moms do

  3. Depends on how old you are.  As a mother I would not expect my 30 year old daughter to pay me for staying with me for one week food and magazines included and for looking after and amusing her. If your mother is buying you lots of clothes she should not.  I buy my daughter the odd clothes as a gift and I get the pleasure out of doing this.  I never charge my daughter but then again she often takes me out to dinner and she treats me in return when I stay with her.  I supported her through her education and she is now financially better off than me but I still would not charge her for one week.  She, however, makes up for it and for a whole year when I could not afford it, she paid for my Health Club monthly fee so that I would be able to keep up going to the gym and swimming.  She has also offered to pay £40 per month into an ISA account for me, which so far I have not accepted. The fact that she has offered is good enough for me.  One week is not a lifetime, if your mother is actually paying for all these items for you then I take it she can afford to do so, otherwise she should not.  However, you should never take advantage.  You should consider treating her by taking out and buying her the odd item of clothing.  I am sure she would appreciate that much more than you "PAYING" her for the one week.  I hope she is not the one asking you to refund her.  Long terms stay is a different matter.  My daughter has just celebrated her 30th and we contributed a small sum of money towards the party.  I just spent two nights with her and her fiancé, she paid for everything, including going out to lunch, tea at nice hotels.  Her fiancé drove us everywhere including picking me up from and driving to the station.  They live outside London and sometimes they drive two hours into London to take my husband and I out for meals.  I would never charge my daughter for food and magazines for a week even if I had to go without myself.  Clothes is something else.  The pleasure would be all mine if I ever had the opportunity to amuse my daughter for one week no matter how old she happens to be - 5 or 30 and I would never want to be paid for this.  Since you specifically say "1 week", you must therefore know how much it costs you in food and magazines, etc for all the other weeks that your mother has not been looking after you.  As to clothes why did your mother have to buy you clothes during that week?  Did you ask her to or did she offer. If you are old enough to go around shops to look at the price, you should be able to work this out for yourself and refund her if you asked her to help you out.  Not knowing your age or the circumstances upon which that your mother had to look after you I can only answer as per the above based on my relationship with my daughter.  I would never charge my parents or my daughter for food.  On a longer term basis, where an adult is living with his/her parents, you should come to an agreement as to paying towards your food and board.  If you are old enough to work but are not then am afraid your mother should not be buying clothes for you and you should pay what you can towards the clothes and magazines. However, one week is a different matter.
