How much should I bring to Vegas? I plan on staying for about 3 days. I make mid-pay appx 50k. Mostly there for the games and booze. Don't care about trips or most shows. (did that too much on family trips)

  1. It doesn't matter, you'll need more!

  2. Bring 10-20% of what the trip WILL cost you.

For example, if it cost you $3000 total (expenses, flight, gas, car, hotel), bring an additional $300-600 for gambling.

Just remember always to have your limits, even though you brought a certain amount of money.

I always try to spread my money out throughout the days.

    -Do not use won money!

  3. you should take about 500

  4. It's a case of "how much ya got? A grand a day should do.

  5. I think the question is how much not to bring. Most people just lose about everything they do take. It's rigged that way. House always wins.

So.. how much do you want to lose?

  6. Decide how much you can afford to lose and only take that amount with you in cash.  Drinking with a credit card leads to very bad things...

like the new computer, ps3 and big screen TV I bough online one night while drinking...

  7. UMMM BRING ALL UR MONEY. UR GONNA WASTE IT ALL ON THE SLOTS. LMAO

  8. Depending on your budget, you should give yourself only cash for booze and gambling...that way you won't go overboard and loose 50k.  For 3 days, maybe $300 to gamble with?  Maybe $200 for food and booze?  Otherwise just bring enough outfits for 3 days, an emergency suite, cell phone, and jammies.

  9. The best answer is the oldest one....take what you plan to lose and not feel bad about.  That's still true, but, considering your income and that you're going for fun, plan on spending $300.00 a day or $1,000 for 3 days.  You can gamble on that, more of course, if you're into really blowing out the big time.  But when you start wandering into spending so much you regret it later, the vacation becomes a bummer memory.  Have fun and GL.

LOL, I read your comment, and if spending 1/5 of your annual income in 3 days is cool with you, it is.  I just think of so many other places I could go and have fun for a longer period of time for 10K, but you're absolutely right, I'm a low-baller.  Clean 'em out hon, and have fun.

  10. First you shouldn't bring any more than you can afford to lose and really wont miss, because the odds are you will lose. Booze will become irrelevant if you plan to be a high roller since the casino wants you to drink...the more you drink the more you gamble. I am going to Vegas for three days next May but I am not a big gambler so a thousand or so will be plenty for me. (and I make more than twice as much as you) So if your comfortable with losing 10K go for it especially if gambling is what you like doing.

  11. We always take $100/day for gambling per person and $100 a day for food and miscellaneous per person.  So it would be $200 a day for me, but if you can bring $10K, you can do almost anything as much as you want.  I only wish I had that much to spend on a trip to Vegas.  As it stands, we don't spend much on attractions, and only spend the $100/day on gambling.  So I guess most of what we do is sight see, I like walking to the different hotels and "window-shopping" at the big stores.
