  1. U -235 means that an uranium -235 atom has 235 neutrons in it ;  now when a high velocity neutron comes towards the uranium atom it is unaffected by the electron cloud b`coz neutron carries no charge & hence , it is not affected by the electron cloud , So it hits the nucleus & doing so , it produces instability inside the nucleus coz the balance of electrostatic attraction , that is required to hold the nucleus gets spoiled , but since every system tends to be in a state of low energy , It is possible for the nucleus to go in the state of low energy only by spliting itself into two nucleus , How that arrangement occurs ?? maybe its just natural ; & We dont need to be bothered about the electrons , there are plenty of free electrons in subatomic space
