  1. The phrase "Action speaks louder than words" should  come to mind.

People do better with hands on than written and verbal instruction

distinctively, quality is measured by sight speed and feel

therefore non-verbal communication prevails over verbal because it takes imagination or thought processing...

    good Q/A

  2. Non-verbal communication disorder is when a person does not have expressive speech. The  person has an oral disorder that prevents letters from combining sounds and creating speech.

Visual communication is a teaching tool to help non-verbal persons improve their communication using pictures. PECS, Picture Exchange Communication System, is a visual communication tool. PECS and other visual communication tools assist non-verbal students in social interaction, education performance and behavior. These visual communicaton tools are helpful for students who have autism, asperger's syndrome, down syndrome, communication disorder, language delay, hearing impairment, aphasia and many more.

  3. As another poster indicates, being "nonverbal" means not having expressive speech. However, Nonverbal Learning Disorder is a separate entity having to do with difficulty in nonverbal types of communication. People with NLD are typically quite verbal, but they lack ability in communicating nonverbally or interpreting this communication from others.

I would say that nonverbal communication is social or emotional communication that is not based on the spoken word. Much of this information is acquired visually, but not all of it. Tone of voice, for example, is neither verbal nor visual. Estimates of the amount of social information communicated nonverbally range as high as 90 percent.

By contrast, visual information is specifically using the visual sense to convey a message. The Picture Exchange Communication System is one specific system for visual information and is very useful when verbal communication is compromised. Most PECS applications I've seen, however, don't appear designed to express the subtleties of nonverbal communication; they're a substitute for speech, not for what is left unspoken.
