  1. I'm a lifeguard- and i used to be scared of one of the plaforms- we have to sit on, i had a really bad experience at one time, to get over it i just got the courage to sit up there again- then to dive off i pretended that a kid was drowning and i had to do something about it. so... just pretend someone is drowning and theres not a lifeguard to do anything. You might take something that floats with you. best of luck.

  2. water is water there are so many more things that are worse than water... smack yourself out of it... and remember if all else fails (which it usually never does) you have a life guard and floating is self-sufficient

  3. think of something that could be more worse

  4. don't worry i do exactly the same thing.

but try to distract yourself with ur buds. and make sure there is lots of pple around you just in case you get a panic attack.

it works for me and to soothe yourself into it try swimming in shallow deep water...like if you're 5 feet tall the max you're getting into is 6-7ft deep water.

and eventually your paranoia will fade away.

  5. practice swimming in the shallow end where u can stand up first. Then u wont be as scared when your in the deep end

  6. It's always best to not think about what may happen. Start by letting go of the wall and just float a few inches away.  If you get a little freaked out, it's okay, just grab the wall again.  If you're still floating, gradually push yourself farther and farther away.  Oh, and try to avoid rowdy swimmers, they can be quite a handful when you're trying to find a state of mind.  Really hoped I helped :)
