  1. This is related to quantum theory.

They idea that since everything has a certain probability, to balance out the probability to have the full 1 (of which probability is made up of) this is saying that because it could have happened, it did, just not in our universe. That is my understanding, so don't accept it as correct.

Anyway, the way I see it, everything is possible, according to this theory, and according to my idea, this means that there are parallel universes with completely different laws of physics.

Meaning, faster than light travel could be very easy in those universes. But in a lot of those universes, there would be no life, as the chances of life arising, vs life not arising is low:high. Then, also there may have been various extinction events, and so forth.

And also, these universes may also contain what is in our maginations.

Eg, the various sci-fi universes we have created in our minds, may actually exist somewhere.

Oh, and it is accepted by  a part of the scientific community as theoretically possible, but unfortunately, it is currently untestable.

Look at some thought experiments, like Quantum Suicide. My personal favourite.

  2. Parallel worlds, as outrageous as the theory sounds, is not necessarily accepted by the general scientific community but is considered to be a very distinct possibility by a good portion of physicists.

Problem is that we have no way to test this theory, thus we are currently unable to validate it except on paper in the form of mathematical equasions which may or may not be correct.

The advent of supercolliders and other newer technologies may be able to prove or disprove this theory in the future, along with String Theory, and help us develop a Grand Unification Theory.

  3. You could place the total amount of acceptance into a sewing thimble.

    It just ain't gonna happen.
