How often and how much water should i give my bamboo plant

is this a lucky bamboo?  if so, it needs to be in two inches of water always.  Dont let the water dry up,  give it new water once a week, dump out the old water.  but it has to be bottled water, if you give it regular tap water the chlorine and minerals in regular water will turn the leaves yellow and it will soon die.

I have a bamboo plant also and i water it every time i can't see the water anymore which is about every 2 to 3 days. compared to other plants my plant should be dead but i've had my plant a long time and i still have all my stems and it is growing really healthy
