I'm looking at a TomTom from Walmart, but many of the reviews are from 2007. I'm wondering if the maps are going to be outdated? First time buying one, any info helps! Thanks!

  1. Hey i bought a new Garmin Nuvi 350 from walmart.com for 198$ this month begining & they provide maps for the first time & there on you need to buy.

I bought my first Garmin Nuvi 350, because i am new to this country and required a GPS. I think so streets are drawn & it will be there for atleast 3 - 5yrs, unless there is some major change.  You can always buy/update maps from respective companies when required. so you can do ahead & buy it.

    All the best

  2. usually once a year!!

I just got one and ask the sales guy!!

make sure you got that cord to plug into the computer USB drive....I already did some downloads for updates!! and don't forget to registered too....

I got mine at TigerDirect.com at a very good price...

  3. TomTom is releasing new maps about 4 times a year now. The latest map guarantee allows you to upgrade from your pre-installed map to the newest map available, within the first 30 days.

For each map version that is released, mapshare map corrections are always free. Mapshare is the service that allows users to report corrections and download corrections that other users have reported. The map will stop getting those corrections one year after it was released. Certain corrections like missing streets will probably not ever come through mapshare.

  4. They come with the united states map and its updated when  new streets are build and roads, always. since they work live. not like google earth or something like that, takes pictures and its like a month old.
