How often are the satalie photographs taken for google maps?

everything seem to be very updated in ny and nj ..i could even see my old house lawns that needed to be cut from nj , i was there a few days ago and the map seems to be almost accurate

According to Google, they will update the database when "they feel it is necessary."

Hi...It actually depends on what area your looking at. I know that in my area they haven't been updated for 3/4 years even though it says it was updated it 2008 !!! I know this because there had been previously a new construction taken place and its still the photograph of the old Area before the new building.

The more popular the area, It seem the more frequently the ,Maps are updated

Sometimes it's a year, six months.

In general there seems to be no hard and fast rule.

Some places I know show buildings that were knocked down three years ago and roads that aren't shown but were built in the last two.

It's more or less pot luck where you live!
