  1. Contrary to what the other poster says, budgies are not tamed 99% of the time and they do not like being "PLAYED with". And if your budgie is trying to get away from you because you keep trying to handle it, it is going to remain stressed out knowing you won't leave it alone. People need to LEARN that parrakeets a.k.a. budgies who are not tamed need you to love them from across the room never handling them at all. Unless your bird is truely hand tamed, I'd say handle it 1 too many times and it will have a heart attack and die. But a hand tamed one won't stress out at all being played with. It's those who are not tamed who get the bad end of the stick with people trying to tame them when in the long run all you are really doing is terrorising your WILD BUDGIE by trying to put your hands on it.

If you want a tamed bird find a breeder in your area who hand feeds their baby birds and go get one of those, but handling a wild bird no matter what breed it is because you want to "PLAY WITH IT" can very quickly kill a bird, then you owners who loose your bird cry about why did your birds die? Never GETTING IT to leave the wild birds be wild and love them from a distance instead of make it hurt your feeling when your birds never act the way you want it to.

  2. Budiges love to be played with. I have 16 and each one loves to come out of their cage and play.

I wouldn'y play with 24/7 but as long as you give it short breaks it should be fine.
