How often can you be called for Jury Service?

Just wondering because a friend has now been called for the fifth time!

  1. Contrary to popular opinion your friend doesn't have to attend. Simply inform the CPS or Fiscal that you have a hatred of the police and would be unable to give a balanced decision regardless of the evidence.

    It certainly worked for me.


  2. your friend is lucky, I'm in the UK and i would love to do it but i only know 2 people who have done it, i even phoned some-one up in london to complain and they told me that is is done randomly from the voting register yet it cant be coz the only people i know who have done it are from white middle class areas, i don't know any one off a council housing estate that has done it

  3. Most states automatically disqualify jurors who served within the last year. Otherwise, there's no limit.

  4. As often as they call you. There is no limit.  It is sort of like the lottery, except it may not ge viewed as lucky!

  5. Most states will only call you once per year if you have served. If you are summoned again during that year, you can normally be excused.
