  1. Almost sorry to say, I have not cleaned out a coop in a while,

    like 45 years.

    My eggs come from the store now.


  2. Bottom line is:

    When it needs it.

    Once a week, once a month, just depends.

    Depends on how many birds per coop.

    If they are knocking over their water

    or rain is somehow getting in. etc.

    Might need to do sooner than expected.

  3. I use the deep bedding technique and do not clean the coop out during the winter months (too much snow to get to the compost piles).  I periodically add Stall-Dri and fresh bedding over the soiled.  There have been no problems with ammonia build up, but the coop is large for the number of birds and well ventilated.

  4. every week or two,depending on amount of moisture ,,,keeping it clean,dry,and ventilated keeps our birds from respiratory problems,
