How often do demerit points for a P plate licence get reseted?

umm, i lost 3 out of my 4 points today in a school zone i didnt realise it was the time, when will i get them back?

  1. You won't get a clean slate until you lose your licence & start again.....

    I just looked it up....for Western Australian licences, if less than 12 demerit points are accumilated within 3 years, they are taken off & you start at zero again....you don't actually lose points...you gain them.....By the way...thanks for the thumbs down...


  2. Im assuming you are from Australia, but must not be in NSW.

    Licence points reset every year if you have a full licence, however, If you have P Plates, I belive you carry the demerit points until you either upgrade to your full licence, or until you upgrade to your next level P Plate (if you are on Red and go to Green)

    I belive that in NSW, any speeding offence for a P Plater attracts an automatic loss of licence for 3 months.
