How often do doctors give rapid detox treatment to patients addicted to opiates?

Question

rapid detox from what i have read, seems to detox a patient completely with in days. why not do this instead of months of rehab and painful withdrawal?

is rapid detox becoming the norm now?

as far as I remember(it has been some time) during my EMT training they only did it in extreme cases.  example only taking drug no food, or fluid and on the brink of death.
