How often do female bassets go into heat??

She went into heat shortly after we got her in in april but the other dogs are acting weird around her and she is swelling.

Every dog goes into heat an average of very 6 months, or twice a year.  That is an average.  My shepard went into heat every 4 months,  the vet told that was just her cycle, nothing to worry about.  But most dogs go into heat every 6.

they are not very active dogs, so i would only take her outside to go to the bathroom or for a quick walk around your neighborhood but nothing more, they can't handle very much heat, and can get strokes very easily.  just don't let her outside so much, and keep her away from other dogs for a while and she should be fine
