I was nearly hit the other day and as I'm a new golfer I am wondering just how "safe" driving ranges are.

  1. WHAT?

  2. You may be on the wrong end of the driving range.

  3. it happens every now and then..... a beginner will shank a ball and hit someone..... no big deal.

but it don't happen that often.... you were just lucky.... I guess..

  4. The more people on the range the more dangerous it is. You can get hit in the head by a club if someone is too close to you or you could get hit by a ball. One time a rookie was next to me and the ball ricocheted off of the bag holder and into my jaw at about 80 miles per hour. I flipped him the birdie. lol

  5. I've only seen near misses.

  6. if your dumb enough to get hit on a driving range maybe you shouldn't go out on the course

  7. It's rare - there are more close calls than accidents.
