my daughter is 2 now and she has had two blood tests checking for lead: one when she was around one years old and the other just a few days ago. Is this a yearly thing?

  1. Not at all...

Many people do this yearly...(for the 1st 5 yrs)

I think it is a great thing to do so that you can always be aware of what is in your child's blood...

    Hope This Helps!

  2. At 1 year 2 years ad 5 years depending on your risk levels

  3. It must depend where you live. I never heard of a child having a blood test for lead.

  4. our doctor asked if we wanted him (2 y/o son) tested, asked us a few questions about where we live to assess the probability of lead, and decided there probably wasnt anything to worry about. hes never had one done.

if your doctor is forcing lead testing on you and you dont believe your son is at risk (living where paint could be really old etc) then hes in it for the money. if you want the tests get them, but if you still live in the same place, and nothing has changed, i would skip it.

  5. no that should be the only 2 unless there is a reason.  it is law to get it done at 1 and 2
