How often do spiders moult ?

  1. It varies with the species, age, and amount of food they get.  They grow faster when food is in high supply.  I have read that Tarantula Spiderlings will molt in a weeks time if feed well, but adult females will wait years in between.


  2. They shed their skin about every 6 months, less as they get older.

  3. The rate depends on the type of spider(usually). Spiders preparing to molt are usually more dark colored, and less agile, since their exoskeleton is old and stiff.
