How often does child support in TEXAS check ,how much is the non-custodial parent earning? Is there anything that the custodial parent can do to let the child support office know that the non-custodial parent is earning more than what he pays?? What to do it is not fair that the non-custodial parent is earning really good money and he still pays the same $150 per month for one child, for the last 7yrs.If I as the custodial parent know, but don't have proofs & called the child support office, will they check on him if he haven't report an changes?? Or what is the process??

  1. Your going to have to go to court and ask for a modification.  They will go over the amount he makes and the amount of money you make.  And then if they see fit they will raise it.  It will take months to get this done though.

  2. They don't check, they don't go over the file until someone brings up an issue.  You should contact Child Support to put in an Order for Upward Modification (well that is what it is called in N.J.) and at that time they will review his financial records as well as the needs of your child.  Good luck.   God Bless.

  3. They don't check, the custodial parent can make a request to have it re-evaluated and they will do it if there is a major increase in pay or if it hasn't be redone in at least 3 years.

  4. in Texas u can go back to court every 3 yrs to review the case.

u may have to get a lawyer to investigate this for u.

I.R.S. will also want to know.

  5. Most states send out a letter to both parents every 3 years to see if they would like a review of the child support.  After 7 years you are definately due for a review.  Just call the child support office and request one.  My original order was for only $150/month as well, but after a year I requested a review and got the amount raised by more then double since the non-custodial parent had actually gotten a job.
