  1. Not too often. Although, there is a special feed you can get at a feed store and it causes them to lay more often. Of course the name of the feed is escaping me now, but if you go to your local feed store they would be able to get you the right stuff.

  2. It would make since that they did just like we do. Each month on a womans period an egg is discarded if not fertilized. Only in a chicken fertilized and unfertilized eggs come out because the baby chick grows in the egg not belly like us. So all in all the chicken has to discard of the egg just like we do.

  3. Your chickens will lay one egg a day no matter if you have a roo or not the hens start around 4-5 months and will lay need some laying pellets and scrach feed oyster shell or grit. the roo only makes the peeps (baby chicks) When you get hens get good egg breeds. And if get peeps you wont really know till they get older how many roos you have unless you order just hens and thats not always right.

  4. About as often as chickens with a rooster around.  That's about 2 eggs every 3 days per chicken, though it varies with breed, the season, the individual chicken, the weather.....

  5. They`ll still lay every day, trust me...I have over 100 chickens right now and had chickens my whole life..36 years.
