  1. About once a week or two weeks if it isn't that dirty. My guinea pig goes alot. I haveto do it once a week.

  2. Honestly, it depends on several factors:

    1) How big is your pig's cage and how much bedding does it take to fill it? - Generally, the bigger the cage, the more bedding it takes to fill it, and the less often you have to change the bedding.

    2) What kind of bedding do you use? - I have found that bedding made of wood shavings or chips needs changed more often than synthetic (man-made) bedding.

    3) What exactly do you mean by "change" the bedding? - If you're talking about just putting a fresh layer on top, that needs to be done every other day. If you're talking about dumping out all of the old bedding, washing & drying the cage bottom, and filling it with new bedding (this is what we do at my house every time we change the bedding), that only needs to be done about every week or so, depending on the size of the cage.

At my house, one of the cages we have is rather large for a guinea pig (it's rabbit-sized), so we can go about 10-14 days before the bedding needs changed. We change the bedding in our other (smaller) pig cage about every week.

  3. If you're using bedding, then you CAN keep it up to a week. The cage should never smell all that bad, and spot cleaning is good. If they especially like peeing in a certain corner (many do) then just scoop out that corner more often and replace that bedding. I really like using fleece instead of bedding. It works well when you don't have many piggies. The cavies won't have any problems if you wait a bit longer. Just clean it as often as you can and they'll love you for it.

  4. I heared its twice a week.

  5. If you only have one guinea pig, you only need to change the bedding, (and clean the cage) once a every ten days. (Once a week for more.)  :)

  6. Guinea pigs (like most rodents) stick to one corner of the cage to pee in. Watch your piggy to see where her choice of potty is. Just scoop out that corner every day and you'll really only need to change the litter once a week.

  7. I currently change almost every day, we recently encounter a problem with pest so we are trying to keep things as clean as possible, with piggies that is hard to do, but once all of the pest are gone, we will be going back to the old schedule which is every 5 to 7 days, depending on what the fleece feels like.

  8. buy this..........its called "yesterdays news" its a high grade cat litter and is safe for their toes, dont worry, this stuff is great you can change every 5-7 days..... and it doesnt smell like when you use wood shavings....im sorry cant think of name..tis smells nice at first the wood smell but when it mixes with their urine...ay chihuahua, yuck no good this litter eliminates all smell its good quality and great!!!!

  9. For a 4" x 1.5", about every 4 days.

  10. I own 2 guinea pigs. You should put fresh bedding in every 4 days, no more. Never allow it to get damp either.

I absolutely <3 my guinea pigs!

  11. id just say to change their bedding when ever it looks like it needs to be changedd...but id say about every 3 days!

    i have a guinea pig!!!   :D

  12. Its alright, but only do that some times NOT ALL THE TIME.

Cuz imagine what it would be like for you sleeping in wee and poo. It would be very unhygenic.

  13. A full cage cleaning should take place once per week, with spot cleaning during the week as needed for heavily soiled areas (around the hayrack, food dish, or water bottle).

Larger cages need to be changed weekly, whereas a small cage might need a full cleaning twice weekly.

  14. i thought it was once a week euh

i dont have a guinea pig but i have been researching so i might get one
