  1. I try to change out my brake fluid on my dirt bike at least once every 6 months. On a street bike, I would say probably once a year, or something like every 15-20,000 miles.......

  2. I change it when it starts to get yellow.

Pour some new fluid in a clean cup to see what color it starts at.

Usually clear with a tint of yellow.

When the clear-ness gets cloudy - change it.

  3. Brake Fluid absorbs moisture in the air very quickly. If its exposed to air for very long at all, the humidity can ruin it.

As suggested above I would recommend no less than every year, even if you don't ride the bike a lot.

Also, if your not sure how old the brake fluid is that your putting in is, throw it out and get fresh. If you completely flush your lines and get all the air out you won't believe how much better your braking response is.

  4. They recommend annually but I do it once every 16000 miles, this corresponds with my valve adjustment interval.  I have never had a problem.

  5. every season
