  1. Every time, you are mad if you don't

  2. 80% of the time depending on the value. Service in the UK has gone down, it's best to double check everything.

  3. Take the items back and get them to check things out for you.

If you are still not happy, ask for a refund.

  4. I agree, take the items back with the receipt. You should be refunded the difference.

I like to check my receipts every time they're handed to me. I also check all my bills online once a week to ensure that the rates are correct. The sooner you highlight an overpayment, the quicker and easier it is to have it resolved, and it only takes 10-15 mins a week to do.

  5. Every one. I have to say that most are OK, but every once in a while ... I also have to say that its more often the system than the poor checkout staff.

I get any overcharges creditted onto a shopping card. Come Christmas, I will see how much is on it and treat myself to a little something. I also just like the idea of turning something "bad" into something good.

  6. That's what you get for getting him to do your jobs for you. Why was he in a supermarket in the first place I wonder.

  7. I am a man and I do the grocery shopping for my family, primarly because if I let my wife or daughrer loose in a store they spend 25%-35% more than when I shop. I make a list, cut coupons if applicable and, to answer your question, watch the register display as the cashier scans my purchases to make sure it's close to the running total I keep while filling my cart. If it's not I investigate before paying.

I know it pisses the folks in line behind me off but having worked in retail for 10 years I know that "pricing errors" are fairly common place. And I know that the markup in grocery stores can be as high as 35%, so they're not getting anymore of my hardearned money than necessary.
