How often do you have to clean your airgun?

I have a R9 Double Gold Air Rifle. How often do you have to clean it? Do you have to clean it after ever use or after every certain amount of shots? And what type of cleaners should I use?

Most shooters I know rarely clean their air rifles unless they appear to be unusually dirty. There are no residues, as with cartridge arms, and barrel leading is non-existent. I clean mine about once a year, whether it needs it or not.
