after the baby is fully weaned and the feathers are clipped how long until you should trim them again?

  1. I clip my macaws wings once a year in the spring, so I can take her outside. During the cold months she's indoors so there is no need to clip


  2. You clip them when their flight feathers come in.

  3. It usually takes about 6 months for the wings to grow back...give or take. Your baby is probably around 2 or 3 months old if it is fully weaned. Lots of parrotlets will go through a first molt between 5 and 8 months so keep and eye on the flight feathers for new ones coming in. After that it should be around every six months.
