  1. can depend on the player and the strings. if you're only a beginner or even an intermediate and don't hit hard, you probably won't have to restring your racquet for a long time. also if your strings are durable and you don't play much you can count on them lasting a very long time. just from experience, i'm a varsity player and i was able to keep my same strings for a little less than a year, and i played tennis 4-6 days a week.

    However the rule of thumb you should go by is that if you can move the center strings more than a quarter inch to half inch Easily then it's time for new strings.

    Alternatively if the strings are tight but heavily worn (strands coming out or grooves in the strings are up to half the dimension of the string) it's time for replacement.
