  1. I live in the biggest city in my state....yet we don't even have so much as a simple commuter train system. There are a small number of rickety old buses, but they only serve the downtown area and only run every hour or so.

There is no choice but to drive, and I find that pathetic in this modern age. I used to live in London (UK), and you didn't even NEED your own vehicle.

  2. I never use public transportation when I have another option.

A car takes me where I want to go, when I want to go there, with a minimum of fuss.

Why put up with the inconvenient bus schedules and routes in most cities? Why walk a mile to a bus station on a hot and smoggy day? Or in the rain? You're also much safer (from crime, anyway) in your own, locked car.

  3. I like it, but it's fairly limited in my county.  But it's clean and usually on time (within 5 minutes).  If I can use it, I try to.  Too bad it's so infrequent.

  4. I always take transit in NYC.

I really like transit in New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia.

    NYC Subways:

Depends on line, some car fleets are dirty, however new technology trains like R-160 is very clean.

    Not always ontime.

On Long Island Railroad, one time when I used, when I opened restroom on M7, it was dirty because people who use it did not flash. Not always ontime.

On Metro-North Railroad, M7 has clean restroom.

On New Jersey Transit, lightrail like Hudson-Bergen Lightrail and RiverLine is always on time departing, but arriving is off-schedule.

Northeast Corridor is sometimes ontime, sometimes late. New cars and old cars are very clean.

    SEPTA

SEPTA Regional Rail R-7 was every 1-3 minutes late.

PATH is very clean and very fast, ontime.

in Westchester County and Rockland County, Bee-Line and Transport of Rockland buses are very clean.

Bee-Line has great recorded announcement that say, "This is Route 12 Westchester County Airport." or "Route 3 Express 242nd St Subway."

In New York City, M35 buses are dirtiest because bus goes through Randall's and Ward's Islands.

In Nassau County, some Long Island Buses can be dirty with illegal aliens, labors, etc. N6 and N72 is clean to me.

In Stamford, CT, CT Transit Route 31C and I-Bus is very comfortable because they use surburn seat.

One time, I-Bus left late at White Plains, but somehow on I-95, it catch up to its schedule and few minutes early at terminal at Atlantic Sq.

  5. I havent ridden a public transportation for about four years now

but when i did i didnt like it

it was sanitary but the people were too close and smelly for comfort

    its was occasionally late

  6. Not often, but in my old home I used it a lot

If it wasn't in the middle of rush hour (5:00-.....)

    Noo no definetly not!

    often

  7. I do all the time (I can't drive, so it's my only choice).

Usually I like it.  (Except when it's messed up, of course)

    Not exactly clean, but passable.

    Hardly ever on time.

But I still give it a passing grade.

  8. Well....not that much.

My favorite is train,D,4,and train 6.You know about them.

Yes ,most of the time they are clean.(except train D,its not that clean sometimes.)

Most of the time, yes, they are always on time.

I usually don't take that much buses.I only take the 12 bus, the 9 bus,and the 17 bus.The buses are alright, but sometimes it doesn't smell good and it makes me throw up.

Since they are old ladies, wearing perfume,it combines the perfume of all the people in the bus, plus the smell of gasoline of the bus,and it makes a terrible smell, other than that,I hate when its crowded,I hated so much when its crowded.

  9. I live out in the country near a smallish city (roughly 30,000) people so public transportation isn't really an option for me.

When I go to large cities I usually use it because it's just so much easier than driving.  For the most part it's fairly clean (it varies depending on where you are) and usually on time.

  10. I really like it.  It is clean; nobody smokes.  It is mostly on time and it goes where I want to go.  But  mostly I  like it because it is  kinder on the environment and on my pocket.
