How often do you vacuum

Question

We recently had a dark carpet installed, because when we moved in the house had a stained old light colored carpet in a high traffic area. Even though it was stained, it looked decent if I vacuumed once or twice a week in this area. Now that we have a dark colored carpet, I have to vacuum every day for the carpet to look free of debris and reasonably clean.

Is this typical? How often do you vacuum?

I have 4 kids so I have to vacum everyday and sometimes more than once a day

Dark carpets always pick up every little bit and show up every mark as i have a rug in my bedroom that is not to dark but i have to hover it every day, as somehow all bits of debris seem to cling to it, a bit like a dark jumpers or even t-shirt show every tiny speck of dirt.

Dark carpeting shows every tiny bit of lint so must be vacuumed every day for it to look good.  Light or medium toned carpets look great even if they are not vacuumed for several days.  However, stains will not show as quickly on the dark carpets so will not need shampooing as often as the lighter colours.

yea at my home we vaccum everryday n sumtimes dependin more than once lol.. since dirt can easy get trap lol

I vacuum EVERYDAY!  Since I have a large breed dog and 2 toddlers I just feel that the house is cleaner if I vacuum regularly!  

I clean a house with dark colored carpet and it shows EVERYTHING...!  Plus, it makes the room look darker and smaller... !

So, I wouldn't buy dark carpet personally- maybe it's time to get a roomba automatic vacuuming system so you don't have to do it...
