I basically live on the bayous of Louisiana and unfortunately we are in the line of fire of Tropical Storm Gustav. I notice that they update at different times but I can't seem to catch on to what these times are. Is it every 2 hours? I know they repeat the info throughout the hour but I am wondering about the new long / lat, mb, speed...things like that. New updates.

  1. The standard updates from the National Hurricane Center are every 6 hours, at 4 AM, 10 AM, 4 PM and 10 PM Central Daylight times.  When a tropical system gets close to land, they issue public updates every 3 hours, at the same times as well as a mid point statement between those times.
