How often does yahoo check groups for active owners?

I don't think they check unless someone complains to support about a lot of spam, TOS violations, etc.  And even then, unless someone steps up and wants to take over the group, they won't do anything.  I took over a group several months ago, but the original group 'owner' is still listed as owner, even though they haven't been active within the group for about 6 years.  Yahoo won't remove them as owner, since 'they may come back'........like that's gonna happen....

Probably never.  A  couple of years back if there had been no activity for a month they would send the owner an email advising them the group would be closed if there was no action.  That is no longer done.

they don't, as of yet and now who knows if there will ever be clean up since they killed Beta test groups.

Yahoo only deletes groups due to TOS violatons- there are zillions of inactive groups
