Recently, I bought a high definition video camera, read the instructions carefully, but as soon as I put a tape inside it, it broke down. What could this be due to, faulty manufacturing? I know a lot of these products are made in China, and I've heard they are made there, cheaply, but it's happened a lot, lately, when I've bought products, and where will this lead...shops can't sell faulty products forever...

  1. there was a huge company breakdown last year, and still there was only 100 faulty products

  2. I think one of the main problems is not that the manufacturing is cruddy, but the boxes are misleading. They don't go over the specifications like they used to. The information that was there is being replaced by people looking so happy when it has nothing to do with the product. All you have to go by is the picture on the outside of the box. This happened to me recently. Last month my family and I drove to LA. I wanted to bring my laptop (its an 8 hour drive from where I live) but I needed an AC charger. So I rode my bike down to radio shack to get an AC converter box which transforms car AC into household DC. I wrote down all the specifications of the car, and knew exactly what I wanted. So I get there, ask the guy, and he shows be this product. No information on it at all, just a picture of people using it. I ask him if it will meet the specifications. He says it will. So I buy it, and ride back home. I put it into the car to test it, and what do you know, it doesn't work. It draws out too much electricity than the car can handle. So it doesn't work. I return it, and I go to best buy.

I end up buying a total of 5 faulty products and return all 5 and eventually find one that works. There was no information on the boxes, just pictures.

The main problem with me isn't that the products are bad, and don't work, they just aren't compatible with what I'm trying to do. As for cameras, I've always been very happy with the quality and function of my video cameras, and I haven't experienced any problems except one of my video editors won't allow me to put the footage in.... I can still do it through another program, it just takes longer. I don't think that it is the products that are faulty as much as it is the advertisement of the products that mislead people into buying them. Sorry about your camera, hopefully you can return it and get a functioning one.

  3. When you purchase such items make sure that the show room you are entering is a good company one and before getting home check the instruments in the showroom it self and the instrument that u check purchase the same which is tested do not take which is not tested.

One more thing when you purschase such things check whether its original or no coz sometimes they sell duplicate for money and by this they dupe people...

Your instrument must be a duplicate one or must be that u forced to put the tape or something that must ahve been the cause...

Better you go to the person and tell him to exchange and check what was wrong with that instrument...

  4. my laptop ipod and phone in the past year have stopped working, Played up.

Now longer can use phone or ipod.

    I think its stupid!!!

  5. There are a lot of faulty electronic products coming from China these days.  They're not reliable, but they're cheap, which is what seems to matter.  The retailers should be held accountable, so keep the receipts and pay attention to the warranty period.  If it's made in China, seriously consider an extended warranty.  Personally I don't buy Chinese if I can help it.

  6. Lately? Always. This house has been through two tvs and three DVD players in 5 years!

Things are meant to break so you can buy another one now.

Oh but they think they can sell faulty products. So far, their probability estimation on that matter seems accurate.

Consumers have to form an independent Consumer Watch Association, and take it from there.

  7. ah !! fast buck freddy --- put it all together --- charge a fortune --- hit them where it hurts --- and walk away !!!

sleasy little mindless persons are apparently winning a war of  preying on " gullible " people --- and sadly there is no end in sight .

and the "watchdogs " if you can call them that --- will roll over for a red rover because they have no teeth to deal with these  shisters

    good luck

  8. I know the problem well - nothing's made like it used to be

I've stopped buying electronic goods - if I do want something in the future (say a new PC) I'll save up my money and pay for the best I can afford rather than quickly grab the more affordable option.

You do get what you pay for, and sometimes nowadays, you get poor service and faulty products regardless of what you pay.

Maybe do your research regarding product brands, which comes highly recommended and which brands are best avoided, online and by asking people before commiting to purchase.

Does your video camera have a warranty?

Maybe check into that as you SHOULD get what you pay for!
