  1. most states require an exam either once a yr or once every 2 yrs once you start wearing the glasses/ contacts. After that time period is up the prescription is considered invalid and most places won't sell you another pair of glasses or any more contacts until you get another exam.


  2. Contact lens prescriptions are usually good for one year.  Eyeglasses can be good for one to two years depending on the prescriber.

  3. As often as they squint, stare, strain, diffuse, and get more blurry vision. Driving requirements of 20/40 vision must be maintained to keep the roads safe.

    Though even though their eyesight is 20/20 their mental capacity is greatly diminished with increasing glasses prescriptions. I think mental speed and awareness should be measured along with visual acuity.

  4. Annually.  A lot can happen in 12 months.
