  1. You should change the oil after 2-3 uses, best oil is PEANUT oil.

  2. for some reason psychological perhaps -chips are always better cooked in new fat/oil.basically its the same stuff at different prices ,a bit like baked beans.you only need to change it when your unhappy with the taste, theres too much debrie in the pan or you,ve set the thing on fire!

  3. Every 3000 miles.

  4. GOVERNMENT AND MANUFACTURERS say its safe up to 5,000 miles plus

    due to the shortage!

  5. it depends on how dirty it gets, and sunflower oil is the best

  6. When you are scooping up more fat then food...DUH....ok, maybe once a week!

  7. Once a month or when you smell the oil.  Also Canola oil is healthier than any other oil for cooking/frying.

  8. It depends on what kind of oil it is and what you fry in it. Unsaturated oils like canola, corn, and peanut oil rapidly degrade when you fry in them, producing free radicals that may be unhealthy. Olive oil is relatively stable and can last for weeks. Coconut oil lasts a long time, too.

You can tell that an oil is breaking down when you see a lot of foam. Oil breaks down more quickly when you fry something that leaves a lot of debris in the oil, so it will help to filter the oil between uses.

I have a fryer I use only for potatoes. I fill it with coconut oil I buy at Walmart. It lasts a long time, and the french fries are the lightest and crispiest of any I have ever made.

Potatoes taste the best when fried in fresh oil which has never had anything fried in it but potatoes.

  9. when it sarts to smell

  10. This depends on how often you use your frier. If the oil starts to look murky and you cant see the bottom then i would suggest changing it then. Possibly every 2 weeks? Vegetable oil is good for cooking chips, or olive oil if you can afford it! lol

  11. every four to five days if you use it all the time but if not once every month

  12. I prefer peanut oil, but sunflower oil works well also. You should strain your oil after each use, and when it turns brownish you need new stuff. Or if you notice a funny taste in your food.

  13. WELL HUN, THE QUESTION IS HOW OFTEN DO YOU USE IT?  I LIKE TO SEASON MY OIL AS I CALL IT.  I LIKE TO COOK IN IT SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE I TOSS IT.  AND EACH TIME I USE IT IT GETS BETTER THE NEXT TIME ROUND.  IF YOUR OIL BEGINS TO SMELL BURNED OR IT BEGINS TO SMOKE WHEN YOU ARE COOKING WITH IT, THEN MY LOVE I WOULD HAVE TO SAY IT'S TIME YOU BOTH WENT YOUR SEPARATE WAYS.  ANOTHER WAY TO KNOW IF IT'S TIME TO GET OUT WITH THE OLD AND IN WITH THE NEW, IS IF YOU CAN'T SEE THE BOTTOM OF YOUR PAN OR FRYER (IF YOUR OIL LOOKS AS DARK AS COFFEE )  ALSO BE AWARE OF COOKING TEMPS THAT WILL ALSO HELP SORT OF PRESERVE YOUR OIL (  I MEAN BY YOU COOKING SOMETHING AT 375 WHEN IT NEEDS TO BE COOKED AT 275)  AT THE END OF EACH FRYING I ALWAYS GATHER AND DUMP ANY REMAINING PIECES OF FOOD BECAUSE THE NEXT TIME YOU COOK WITH THAT OIL THAT FOOD LEFTOVER FROM BEFORE WILL BURN AND THAT WILL ALSO SPEED UP THE DUMPING PROCESS OF YOUR OIL.  AS FAR AS WHICH OIL TO USE I WOULD SAY TRY A FEW DIFFERENT ONES UNTIL YOU FIND THE ONE YOU LIKE.  I WAS USING CANOLA OIL BECAUSE I WAS TOLD IT WAS BETTER FOR ME BUT THEN I WENT BACK TO VEGETABLE OIL, I LOVE THAT EXTRA FAT-LOL!!

    GOOD LUCK

  14. I always wanted my mom to get a fryer but she said no..fried foods are unhealthy...she bakes fries...
