I always leave her food bowl full of dry ginea pig pellet food, but how often should I give her veggies like romaine lettuce, carrots, or parsley?

Once, or twice a day?

  1. Hahah, I give mine veggies whenever he begs for them.

(His cage is near the refrigerator and squeaks when he hears the sound of rustling plastic bags.)

Just make sure not to give her too many veggies with a high water content (like iceberg lettuce) because they may give her diarrhea. But it seems like you know what kinds of veggies to give to a guinea pig.

Once or twice a day is good. Maybe more when you think it deserves an extra treat.

  2. I give mine some grass and lettuce everyday.  Yeah give it to her atleast once a day. Make sure she gets her excersize though.! Dont want a fat little piggy! :D

  3. Every day. And unlimited grass hay too http://www.guinealynx.info/diet.html

  4. They need veggies daily, but it is up to you how you serve them.

I prefer to give mine theirs twice a day (breakfast and dinner).

However, some veggies need to be given in varying amounts. For exmaple, lettuce an bell pepper can be given pretty much every day. Some food should only be given up to twice a week (eg fruit because it is high in sugar, parsley because it is high in calcium etc).
