that depends on several factors: how often do you use it, what is the weather like (if it is hot the horse will sweat more) and does your horse get very wound up and sweaty?

If you are riding him/her daily I would say you need to wash it once every 2 weeks.  If you get a build up of dirt and sweat it may start to rub and irritate the horse.  If you have 2 saddle pads then you can make sure you have one clean one at all times.

Use your own judgement though: if it looks dirty, wash it.

ive never heard it called a saddle pad before. my girlfriend washes hers everytime she showers
