Question:

How often should I water my grape plant?

Its leaves are turning yellow and I don't know what to do. Please help.

  1. I water mine every day and mine are enormous. Dont over water, just give it a little water each day and make sure you have something for it to grow on :)

This depends on whether it is planted in a container or planted directly in the ground.  If it is planted in the ground, it needs about an inch of rain a week or the equivalent from watering.  Grape vines have extremely large root systems that can easily spread out across 100 square feet underground or more.  If you have it planted in a container, even a relatively large container, you will need to water it very frequently because the roots have a lot less soil to pull water from.

    If you do have the vine planted directly in the ground, you don't want to water it any more than necessary the first year because you want it to set deep roots.  Watering too frequently encourages root development near the surface, which isn't going to be good for the vine in the long run.
