I have one plant inside and right now it looks bad. My husband waters it every day but I think that is too often. It is called a Shuffelaira (don't know how to spell it.

  1. I've found that indoor plants tend to suffer more from lack of light than from water. Once a day watering seems too much for any plant. Traditional indoor plants tend to be forgiving on watering. Again, from my experience the major issue is light. Also, try using filtered/bottled water rather than tap water as the tap water can clog up the soil and add unwanted solids to the soil.

  2. stick Your finger in the soil.  If it feels dry, water it. Indoor plants shouldn't be watered every day.  No matter what kind of plant it is.  Letting them dry out a bit.  It prevents fungal growth.

  3. you should oly water whe the soil gets dryed inch deep, or spray mist water o them daily!!

  4. Indoor plants don't require watering more than once weekly, unless they are in a sunny warm spot. In which case more often.

  5. Sweetly tell hubby to step away from the watering can.

You shouldn't water more than once a week,

Just let it dry out until next week. Then start a regular routine

It is easier for me to spell and say umbrella plant than Schlefflera.
