  1. I nursed on demand...normally 2 to 3 hours (sometimes four) but at 3 weeks old I would never wake him...if he was sleeping I was trying to sleep...but I always went on demand. Best of luck and congrats on the baby and breast feeding!

  2. Ha the fun question, I was there a few months ago...  I asked my doctor that same question.  Do you know what he told me...when ever baby is hungry.  Some babies eat every 2 hours some 4... it depends on your little one. Good Luck

  3. Nurse on demand, but dont let it go for more that 3 hours. I feed my baby on demand and we average thee night feeds and 9-10 times during the day.

  4. either feed on demand or at least every 2-3 hours with a 3 week old

  5. Every one to three hours, just whenever the baby cries for it.

  6. My daughter is 5 weeks old.  She has ate every 2-3 hours.  And has since birth.  She may go 4-5 hours at night.  She does go through a day or so of cluster feeding.  She just did this last week.

  7. every hour and a half (i breastfeed a 5 month old)

  8. As often as the baby wants to. First thing when the baby cries, I would offer the breast and see if that is what the baby needs. It may seem that there are days when you are nothing but b*****s, that the baby just wants to eat constantly. I would not wake the baby during the night to feed him/her. I would not wake the baby during the day either unless you find that he/she won't sleep as well at night without eating more often during the day. You may have days when the baby eats far less than other days. Some days she/he will be growing more than on other days and will eat and sleep accordingly. There is no "should" as to how often or how much a breast fed newborn eats. As long as the baby is content and is growing, you're doing great.

  9. Feed on demand. When my newborn was that young it was every 2 hours or so.

  10. The average is every 2 1/2 hrs but as you've seen, every baby is different!  I'd disregard the "every 20 minutes" answer.  I've NEVER heard of that!  You would probably enjoy the book "What to Expect the First Year".  I found it SO very helpful!

  11. They usually eat about every 20 min or so.
