i used to slack on eye exams. there was one time i went 4 years without one. probably not a good idea. i have prescription glasses. my last exam was February 2007. i thought i heard its best to get them checked out every year. especially since my mom said there has been Glaucoma in her family. i read about that and i have never noticed any of the signs they listed. is it about time to get one?

  1. My insurance covers an eye exam once a year.  So I guess it is once a year.  Children especially because their eyes change to quickly.

  2. If you have a medical history in your family of Glaucoma I would say you should go every year, but here is what the laws say.   In every state if you wear Glasses you only need to be seen every 2 years, if you wear contact lenses in all but Six states you need to go in every year, the six states that have an exception are WA, UT, MN, NM, OH, and FL. The laws there state that both contact lens wearers and glasses wearers only need to be seen every 2 years.  I would say with your families history that it's worth going in every year even if the law says otherwise. Hope this helped.

  3. I was just at the doctors the other day, and they said unless I'm having problems that every 2 years is ok.

  4. Seriously, I haven't gone in 10 years.  My glasses are fine.  There's no need.  Now I got several monthly contacts and am wearing each of them yearly to make them last.

    Yearly eye exams are overkill.

  5. For me I go every 2 years since my vision isn't that bad,I go usually to have a check-up and to get my prescription updated! If you feel like there might be a change in your vision, you should make an appointment!

  6. I would get them checked every 9-12 months. Otherwise if you feel your eyes are getting worse get them checked out, because seeing blurry can give your headaches.

Also the longer you go with out getting them corrected, the worse your eye sight becomes. The progression of worsening slows down when you get them corrected.

  7. annually is best or at least every other year

  8. get them checked once a year, and then as needed if you feel something is wrong with your eyes.

  9. once a year i'd say

  10. 1ce a month

  11. Annually! Or maybe more often, but just because your doctor said so.

  12. Generally, once a year unless your optometrist or doctor suggest otherwise.

  13. Yearly

  14. If you're over 60 or on benefit in UK you get a free eye test every 2 years.
