  1. as soon as the water starts looking bad.

they can get sick real easy if the water is dirty

  2. depending on if you have the carbon 4 chamber stuff or just some cotton, it'll need changing at different times. with a cotton one, you should change or just clean it whenever it looks a bit dirty and with carbon thingymabobs, if it has foam things in it, thats needs changing about every 6 weeks and the carbon stuff need changing every 6 months (but should be cleaned whenever you got free time).

and west african painted turtle maybe?

  3. dont get another turtle onless you are going to get a 30- 40 gallon tank and a bigger filter. if i was you i would keep with the one turtle.you should change the filter 1 every 1-2 month's

  4. Figure 10 gallons of tank per inch of shell (cumulative). I suspect that you already need a larger tank. Aim for a filter rated for twice the size of the tank. Change the filter material when it or the tank looks dirty.

  5. If you get another turtle deff upgrade your tank.

Filters change every 3 weeks. If you get a larger filter such as 30 gal it would be once a month b/c it intakes the ammonia alot more than a small one would.

    Very beneficial.

is it an african side neck? We only sell red eared and side necks.

  6. A 15 gallon is pretty small.  I would change the filter every 2 weeks.  Clean water is essential for healthy turtles.  Change water frequently.  Turtles do not need company and this can cause a lot of problems.  Feed him more variety.   Check out this site:
