  1. Once a week.

  2. once a week, make sure ti is cycled, and change the water when the ammonia gets high.

  3. With a good filtration system not that often, the water contains beneficial microbes which are good for the neon tetras. If you must change the water replace it with chlorine free water and carefully reintroduce the the tetras. (in a 8 gal. tank why only 5 neon tetras?)

  4. I would do a 10% water change once a week maybe every other week, just by vacuuming most of the debris in the gravel and remember to refill the tank with dechlorianted water

  5. When it appears to be durty, about once every month or so.

  6. tetras are not that dirty meaning the don't produce to much waste

it makes a difference if your tank is over crowded or not

but it seems like it isn't over crowded

it also depends on the filter you have if the filter is for a smaller aquarium you might want clean it out more but if the filter is for a bigger tank you may clean it out less

    i would say 1 every 2 weeks
