  1. Wow...You know I am in the same situation. Last summer I broke my hip and I just started riding again a few weeks ago. I know that I am nowhere near the racing speed and endurance that I had but I'm just trying to ride as much as possible. I also havent gotten the ok to ride again from the doctors but I feel fine on the bike. I would try to take it easy until you are cleared by the doctors because if you're not good to be riding and you get hurt again, there's going to be a good chance you're not going to be racing by that time. Right now the big thing in motocross training is riding bicycles. I try to ride mine atleast a few miles a day to get my leg strength back and for endurance. It really depends on how fast you can get back up to speed. I think that just riding as much as possible is the only way you can get back into your race speed that you had before.

  2. never stop!!! ride all day

  3. The rule of thumb if you really want to win is for every hour of race time, ride 8 hours.. Run 5 miles 2x weekly and go to the gym and do 2 workouts a week building upper-body strength and leg power with core building at the end of your 2-hour session. But for vintage riders, don't train at all, just ride the races and enter 3 classes every time you race.. That's the other side of the coin.. I like to ride vintage.

  4. every day

  5. Coming off of an injury I highly recommend consulting with your doctor and physical therapist.  Physical therapy should be taken serious and same for any other instructions given to you by your doctors (ie braces, ice, etc.).  Reading information on your injury or contacting professional motocross trainers is another good way to recuperate from your injury.  www.racerxvt.com is a good site to visit on information on training and injuries.

You should milk your serious injuries so that you can do well racing, not half ***.  If you notice, many professionals will take the entire national season off if they suffer a major injury.  This gives them time to heal and prepare for the supercross season so they can enter back into the groove where they left off instead of struggling to keep pace and risking more injuries during the national season.

I broke my collarbone 2 years ago after I endoed and knocked myself out.  I still have severe back and neck pains everyday and only recently have they started to back off since I have been going to the gym and working out my back and core.

My friend has torn his ACL meniscus three times in three years and has had the surgery done twice with a cadaver.  He is horrible at listening to instructions, never wears knee braces, dosn't wait for the doctor's ok, dosn't do proper therapy, and is always pushing himself.  Now his knee is always the size of a coconut, and he can't do play any sports.

Be careful and think before you do stuff.  You don't always have to be the hero.
