  1. depends on the car and if it uses oil  once a month or so is ok if you have a good car.. really if its new and you know your car shouldnt need to check it at all between oil changes

  2. That is a big no-no! i work at an oil change shop in dallas texas and u should check your oil every other time u fill up ur tank with gas! thats the best thing to do because i have had customers who dont check it for 1 month and the old oil burnt through there engines!

  3. Every time you fill up.

  4. i check mine weekly. make sure its not black either or any metallic materials in it.

when you take it out wipe the opil off the dip stick then put it back in again and pull it back out.

if you look at it when you pull out the dipstick the first time your going to think its very full because the oil would of been flicked up on to it while youve been driving

  5. at least every month or sooner if you see a unusual oil spot on the pavement under your car

  6. my car does it for me

  7. A good practice to get into is checking your oil everytime you fill up for gas.  And while your under the hood doing that, check all the other fluids as well.

  8. If you're relatively sure the motor uses no oil between changes I have a nervious niche and check it at a  minimum of once every couple of weeks.

  9. every time you fill the gas tank. that works for me.
